Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 24, 2026

The Houma-Terrebonne Chamber of Commerce (the "Chamber", "we", "our") operates this website to share events, news, promotions, and resources with our members and the broader Houma-Terrebonne community. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to you.

Information we collect

  • Information you submit. When you use the Member News submission form, event RSVPs, or contact channels, we collect the information you provide (name, business, email, phone, event details, and any uploaded flyers or images).
  • Account information. If you sign in to the administrative dashboard, we store an email address and authentication identifiers used to secure access.
  • Automatically collected information. Our hosting infrastructure records standard log information (IP address, browser type, referring page, timestamps) for security, diagnostics, and fraud prevention.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. We use strictly necessary cookies and local storage to keep the site functional (for example, remembering your cookie preferences and administrative sign-in state). We do not currently use advertising or third-party analytics cookies. If that changes, the cookie banner will request your consent before any non-essential cookies are set.

How we use information

  • To review, publish, and manage submissions and RSVPs.
  • To respond to inquiries from members and the public.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the website.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

How we share information

We do not sell personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us operate the site and with authorities when required by law. Current service providers include our hosting and database provider (Lovable Cloud, which uses Supabase as its data platform) and our email delivery provider. Information that you publish through Member News (business name, event details, uploaded imagery) is intended to appear on the public site.

Data retention

We retain submissions and published content for as long as needed to operate the newsroom and maintain historical records. Administrative account records are retained while an account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter.

Your choices and rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of information you submitted by contacting the Chamber at Info@houmachamber.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state or national privacy laws, including the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share personal information for targeted advertising).

Children's privacy

This site is intended for a general adult business audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
